Replace "spring" with "fall" in the Cummings poem below, and you'll feel the same joy C felt as she splashed through the mud in an outfit she put together on her own. I love this precious girl so much that it hurts sometimes. And, WELCOME to our wonder Fall weather-- in the FIFTIES this morning!
PS Our weeds aren't usually this... weedy. This is after the week of rain, plus it's in the newly-enclosed-with-a-fence-and-still-being-improved-lot-that-is-now-part-of-our-yard AND after a water main leak!
[in Just-]
in Just-
spring when the world is mud-
luscious the little
lame balloonman
whistles far and wee
and eddieandbill come
running from marbles and
piracies and it's
spring
when the world is puddle-wonderful
the queer
old balloonman whistles
far and wee
and bettyandisbel come dancing
from hop-scotch and jump-rope and
it's
spring
and
the
goat-footed
balloonMan whistles
far
and
wee

GOSH.
My Goddaughter is absolutely BEAUTIFUL.
HOW did you catch those moments on camera? The movement, the light, the outfit, the boots!!!!
Oh my goodness, Lisa!!!! You should get a three-picture frame and frame this series. Unbelievably precious and what a brilliant reminder to live life fully and joyfully!!! Christ came that we would have life have it abundantly! Satan tries to steal our joy at every turn and we must be reminded to put on the armor of God!!! This picture series is just perfect. I absolutely love it.
Lisa, maybe you should bless your daughter's godmother with a wonderful gift...say, a three-picture frame of these pictures...
ReplyDeleteJust sayin...they are adorable and frame worthy!
